ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
9th December 2020
2020 has been another great year for the Mooloolaba Tennis Club besides the Covid19 and I'd like to thank KTA for following the Covid19 Guidelines up to even now. Also like to thank the Committee for carrying out their duties and all their help to their very best for the year. My thanks to our Treasurer again this year, Maureen who puts in a lot of time keeping the books and finances up to date and preparing the financials ready for the Auditor each year. Again, Maureen has done a great job to stay on top of the accounting all year. Thanks also to our Secretary Gavin for his time and efforts this year.
Also, a big thankyou Leigh Aldrich acting as our Grants Officer all year. We have been successful winning grants, from the Sunshine Coast Council $4198.00 to go towards our Clubs Insurance, $2000 for sanitizing stations around our Club, Gambling Community Club Fund $35K towards resurfacing of courts 5 & 6, Bunnings donated $500 to our Club because of Covid19 as we could not do the Sausage Sizzle to raise money and we used the money towards our new petrol driven high pressure cleaner. Thanks, Leigh, for all your effort again. You've been a big help with applying for grants, newsletters, and Facebook communications etc.
I like to thank Adon Kronk Trading as KT Academy P/L and his Staff for his Efforts this year coaching and looking after all Fixtures, Social tennis, Court Hire and keeping our Club looking good.
Thanks Ian, John, Geoff, Ian Reed and Other Club Members who have been doing a few hours every Monday for a while now, thank you all. The gardens and overflow carpark look great around the Club. Big thankyou to Ian Waraker for all the plants he has donated to the Club.
A big thankyou to Ian Reed and the rest of the Members who have been coming down here mulching up all the branches and leaves and putting it on the Gardens, also a thank you to the Mountain Creek High School for given us some Mulch.
The Bus Shelter project was a major project this year and Geoff McCormack and Ian Reeves did an amazing job of transforming the older shelters into great shaded seating areas for the Players and Spectators. Both Man sustained injuries while doing this project. We've had so many compliments and good feedback for these. Geoff McCormack spent numerous days and hours to make these bus shelters as good as you see them today.
I think all of you would agree, as a result of KTA's presence, the work of the committee and of the volunteers around the gardens and facilities, Club Members and visitors really enjoy coming down here to enjoy themselves playing tennis and being at this Club.
The Bunnings Sausage Sizzles have been a success again this year to raise money for the Club although BBQ opportunities are well down on previous years due to COVID. We have used for various improvements and upgrades around the club like, Thank you to all Members and volunteers of the Club for helping on these days, especially Sharon Reeves for successfully applying for the events. Sharryn has been responsible again when we have had BBQs to rally up helpers, gather all the supplies and organize the events.
We have 171 registered players including 128 Seniors & 43 Juniors, which is down on last year but is now continuing to grow monthly post COVID, so we all must be doing things right.
As you all heard from Adon's Managers Report there has been a lot going on in 2020.
Senior Social Tennis
To those who organized the weekly Social Tennis, particularly Ian and Sharryn Reeves, thank you for your dedication.
MTC Seniors Tournament
Our Senior's Tournament was a success with our largest number of Senior players, over 149 players from Gold Coast to Bundaberg, the weather was perfect. Over the weekend the tournament generates a lot of money for the club and the canteen takes a substantial amount as well.
Thank you to all the people who assisted during the year with catering for our tournament and other club events and those who donated baking and other items.
The Club acknowledges the Sunshine Coast Council Community Partnership Funding Grant of $5,500
towards the Facilities and Affiliated Bodies Insurance for the Mooloolaba Tennis Club for a period of

Grant greatly assists in offsetting that expense.
Facility Upgrades, Repairs and Maintenance
This year the Club:
Bus Shelters on the courts for shade for the players, Four New Shade sails have been ordered to replace the Storm damage sails down behind the hardcourts.
New Gardens around the Grounds, especially over towards the motorway and the driveway is looking great.
Removal of several dead trees and tidying up of the overflow carpark.
We also have got Quotes & Estimates for replacing the fences, synthetic grass surface for Courts 1 & 2 for when Grant applications come out, so we are ready to apply for these Items. We have already applied for numerous grants and are still waiting for another round of funding to see if we are successful.
Also, we have a concept plan and a estimate cost of $245K from TQ Court Tech for five Hotshot courts and a hit up wall to go down behind the Hardcourts with lights and all.
Like to thank our Patron Ian Reeves and Geoff McCormack for their work they do around the club, and everyone else who helps Adon to keep the Club looking great.
